After many years apart and a reunion in Italy, Angela travels to the Middle East years later. She films the everyday experiences of her family reunion, pilgrimage, and daily life. Raised for part of her childhood as a practicing Muslim and remaining deeply connected to her Muslim family, Angela approaches the journey from a personal history with Islam that continues into the present. Wearing hijab and participating in the rhythms of family and religious life become part of a broader exploration of identity, belonging, intimacy, and cultural inheritance. Hijab, Red Sea considers how family, faith, and memory continue to shape relationships across distance and time.
